Renovated 70 year old house
with warmth
Oyodo Sakuraan is a DIY renovation of a 70-year-old old private house.
Wooden beams and pillars that have stood the test of time, the nostalgic scent of tatami mats, and flickering natural light. We have gently added modern comforts to this old-fashioned atmosphere.
The moment you step into this place, you will feel nostalgic and at ease.
Away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, you can relax at your own pace in a space where time flows slowly.
Each room and accessory is imbued with the warmth of the owner’s own hands.
Spending time in this space is not just an overnight stay, but a special experience that will unwind you to the depths of your soul.

Surrounded by nature and history,
a special time
Oyodo Sakuraan is a quiet inn surrounded by nature in Oyodo Town, Nara.
At night you can sleep peacefully to the sound of insects, and in the morning you can wake up to the chirping of birds – you can spend a moment experiencing nature firsthand.
Yoshinoyama, a 40-minute drive away, offers breathtaking beauty in spring when cherry blossoms cover the mountain.
Tenkawa Village, also a 40-minute drive away, is famous as a summer resort, where you can refresh yourself in the clean air and clear streams.
At the Dorogawa Hot Springs in the area, you can enjoy a warming moment while feeling the atmosphere of a historic hot spring resort.
Here, you can get away from everyday life and have “your own special time” to enjoy nature, culture, and the healing power of hot springs with all your senses.

Convenience and Lodging Attractiveness
Oyodo Sakuraan is a spacious old house that can accommodate up to 10 people.
It is perfect for a trip for three generations of parents, children, and grandchildren, or for a family gathering. Gathering together under the same roof is a special experience that is not usually possible.
Furthermore, families with small children are also welcome.
Children who can sleep in the room with their parents stay free of charge, so the whole family can enjoy the trip without hesitation.
The laughter of the children and the smiles of the adults echo through the hall – why don’t you spend such a warm time at Oyodo Sakuraan?

The Story of Oyodo Sakuraan
When I first encountered this inn, it was an old house that had been abandoned for many years.

A few months later, with the help of friends, we finally completed the trash and disposal.
It was a daunting task at first, but we managed to complete it.

I did everything myself in the remodel, from replacing the walls,
remodeling the bath and kitchen, to designing the room.
It was a lot of work in between jobs, but more than that, it was a lot of fun.

This inn, “Oyodo Sakuraan,” is a 70-year-old old private house that I, a former firefighter, reworked with all my heart as a DIY project.
We hope you can relax and feel as if you are visiting a relative’s house.
During my time here as a DIYer, I have come into contact with a lot of the richness of nature and the warmth of the local people.
Over time, this place began to feel like a “second home” to me.
In addition, my wife, daughter, and mother lent their assistance in creating the interior and flow lines.
By incorporating a woman’s unique perspective, we have created a space that values comfort and ease of use, and we are confident that you will find it comfortable.
I enjoy meeting people more than anything else.
This is because being exposed to a person’s experiences and values will bring new discoveries and stimulation to you as well.
We would like to make this inn a place where such encounters and interactions naturally occur.
Please feel free to visit us.
