Meet the Owner

Oyodo Sakuraan Owner: Yohei Kawai
Nice to meet you.
My name is Kawai, the owner.
As a former firefighter, I came across a 70-year-old private house in Oyodo Town, Nara, when I was reexamining my life.
I wanted to make it a place where people could take a breather.
With that in mind, I started to restore it by DIY, little by little, with my own hands.
What I really want to do is not only to provide hospitality.
What I really want to do is not only to entertain you in the building, but also to create a time together with you when you come here to laugh, talk, and truly relax.
I want to be a warm place that makes you want to go home and say, “I’m home.
I am really looking forward to meeting you.
Kendama, Koma, Origami, Ayatori, Matcha (powdered green tea), Kimono dressing….
You and your child can casually experience traditional Japanese games and culture at our inn.
Our goal is to provide a relaxing and enjoyable experience that is “like visiting a relative’s house.
We would be happy if you could experience the “Japanese way of life” that you cannot find just by visiting sightseeing spots during your trip.
